Ceramic Care Guide
Handcrafted ceramic pieces bring a quiet, grounded beauty into everyday spaces, but they do need a gentler touch than metal or stone. Here's how to keep yours looking its best.
Cleaning
Clean ceramic pieces gently with mild soap and warm water, using a soft cloth or sponge. Avoid abrasive scrubbers, which can scratch or dull glazed surfaces over time.
Handling and storage
Ceramic is more prone to chipping or breakage than copper or stone, so handle each piece with care, especially when washing or moving it. Store away from the edges of shelves or countertops where it could be knocked over.
Temperature
Avoid sudden temperature changes, such as moving a piece directly from a hot dishwasher to cold water, as this can cause fine cracks over time. Let ceramic pieces come to room temperature naturally before washing.
A note on character
Small variations in glaze, tone, and texture are part of what makes handcrafted ceramic unique — no two pieces are ever quite identical.
