Copper Care Guide
Copper is at the heart of the DAASI collection — from Tamrit, our copper water bottle, to Jibbhi, our tongue scraper, Tāmpatra glasses, and the Valaya bracelet. A little regular care keeps each piece looking and performing its best for years.
Daily cleaning
Clean your copper piece regularly using a mixture of lemon and salt, or a natural copper cleanser. Rub gently, then rinse thoroughly with water and dry completely with a soft cloth. Avoid letting copper air-dry on its own, as this is when spotting is most likely to occur.
About patina
Over time, copper naturally develops a patina — a darker, sometimes uneven tone that forms as the metal reacts with air and use. This is a normal part of copper's character, not a flaw, and many people come to love the deeper, warmer colour it takes on. If you prefer a brighter finish, regular cleaning with lemon and salt will help slow this process.
What to avoid
Never put copper pieces in the dishwasher or wash them with harsh chemical cleaners, as these can damage the surface. Avoid leaving copper items soaking in water for extended periods, and store them somewhere dry between uses.
The daily ritual
Many people fill their copper bottle the night before and let it rest until morning, making that first sip a small, deliberate start to the day. A quick rinse and dry afterward is all it takes to keep the ritual going.
